7th Grade students from Global Tech Prep just returned from presenting at the NACOL Conference in Glendale, AZ. NACOL is a leader in promoting online and blended learning models. Accompanied by Principal Chrystina Russell and Foreign Language teacher Valerie Miller, students Darya and Imani joined students from City Poly High School to present on PowerspeaK12, an online language program that Global tech is using this year. The students ran a workshop at the conference, teaching teachers from around the country how students use the program, how they interact with the website and how they can check grades instantly.

Presenter Darya is a big fan of the program, which she is using this year to learn both Spanish and Chinese. She noted that it allowed you to work at your own pace, see missing assignments easily and get instant feedback on your progress. Of presenting at a national conference, she said, "I felt nervous but it felt really good to be able to show adults how our language program works.
